I began web design at a young age, starting with simple html / css sites and progressing to integrating JavaScript and configuring CMS's — turns out hacking together a custom JavaScript popup taught me a lot about HTML & CSS!
University only consisted a few noteworthy group projects , the most notable being the FeedMe application completed in my second year. I took on the role as the project lead developer assisted along side with another student helping with UX elements. In the end i managed to complete my undergrad.
So what did i learn....
As part of the IT team, I was tasked with developing a backup system based on shell scripts for securely backing up the company's data to external cloud solutions. I also helped create a prototype database using Microsoft SQL Server that was later used to run the company's whole real estate sales business.
Here, I worked as a volunteer. Among my responsibilities were designing brochures and posters with Photoshop, ensuring efficiency and speed in regular administrative work, and assisting with event planning by conducting detailed research.
Goldman Sachs employed me as a contractor through Computacenter. General decommissioning of equipment to redeployment of proprietary trading equipment were among my responsibilities. I also obtained experience with quality assurance and the construction and implementation of Windows Virtualized Trading Environments.
My responsibilities Included Installation of a centralised cloud storage system, as well as email servers, Office 365, and internal webapps hosted on Azure. I was responsible for developing unique solutions tailored to the company' specific needs, as well as serving as the data protection officer, ensuring that all changes and procedures adopted, both in technology and with the workforce, were GDPR compliant.
